Brain-computer interfaces in digital mindfulness training for metacognitive, emotional and attention regulation skills: a literature review

Brain–Computer Interfaces (BCIs) are specialized systems that allow users to control computer applications using their brain waves. With the arrival of consumer-grade electroencephalography (EEG) equipment, brain-controlled began find fertile ground in mental training. One particular area is gradually gaining attention mindfulness In this paper, results a literature review BCI-assisted training BCI’s presented. The specific aim effects BCIs embedded interventions on metacognitive, emotional, and regulation skills. Papers published last 10 years were reviewed. showed use provides subjects unique opportunity self-regulate emotional functions feedback derived from own activity. Subjects found raise better awareness about ways non-conscious operations influence states.
